Airbus
Options for Intheairnet Advanced Digital Servers
Single Aisle And Long Range Aircraft Servers To Be Qualified
Farnborough Air Show, England. July 25, 2002--Airbus has
agreed to facilitate
Intheairnet's efforts to obtain qualification for offerability of its
advanced technology
digital servers as options to airlines for all single aisle and long-range
models. These
servers will replace existing equipment for prerecorded announcements,
boarding music,
and gate information, as well as hosting a new digital map product with
high-resolution
satellite images. Availability is planned for summer 2003.
"Intheairnet's new digital technology servers will
provide airlines with higher reliability
and functionality for the cabin while establishing a new industry level
of content and
ease-of-operation," said Michael Rogerson, Chairman of Intheairnet.
Extending the
option for the servers for today's family of Airbus aircraft allows operators
to have the
servers installed at the factory for new aircraft orders, as well as to
upgrade their existing
fleets.
Intheairnet products include advanced digital networks,
inflight entertainment systems
and satellite communications equipment for both transport and business
aviation. Patents
are pending for network architectures as well as the appliances.
