INTHEAIRNET DEMONSTRATES NEW mseries™
FLEXIBLE DIGITAL AVOD IFE SYSTEM
LONG BEACH, CA – Intheairnet LLC has demonstrated its new mseries™
Digital In flight entertainment system during this year's World Airline Entertainment Association
convention in Long Beach California..
The new successor to their previous SharkFin™ system, mseries™ is a lightweight and powerful
in-flight entertainment system that allows full audio-video on demand (AVOD), shopping, moving
map, games and more. The system is fully digital and allows hundreds of passengers to
simultaneously watch television and experience other media. mseries™ offers significantly lower
per-seat weight, power and cost of competitive systems without TV (3.5 lbs. & 13.65 watts
per seat – 144 seat system).
mseries™ offers a unique data driven architecture which allows all GUI graphics, layout, and
functional operations to operate independent of code. This eliminates the need to re-compile code
or load new software on the aircraft to change the user interface. Multiple GUIs can be stored on
the Digital Media Server providing the opportunity to completely change the look & feel (and function)
of IFE system depending on destination, flight leg, time of day, or any other parameter. Furthermore,
Airlines can modify GUIs using our user friendly editing tool, and update as often as they want.
This mseries™ also supports a new innovative method of user interaction. The system supports a
flexible Passenger Control Unit™ which has a smooth sealed surface eliminating breakable buttons.
Navigation is performed through an iPod™ like surface allowing seamless movement to navigate
your way through the system.
